The Structural Engineer will perform structural analysis and design primarily for Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Municipal clients. Services provided by Century A&E include:
• Building and Equipment Foundations
• Structural Steel and Reinforced Concrete
• Masonry and Timber
• Cost Estimates
• Roof and Floor Capacity Calculations
• Equipment Platforms and Walkways
• Railcar and Tank Truck Unloading Facilities
• Tanks and Foundations for Tanks
• Earth Retaining Structures and Seawall
• Pipe and Utility Bridges
Responsibilities:
• Structural engineering analysis and design for both multi-discipline and single discipline projects
• Client-facing project management
• Coordinating the development of construction drawings and specifications with AutoCAD designers
• Design fee and construction estimating
• Construction phase assistance
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in an Accredited Civil Engineering Program- Structural Option
• Five years of consulting engineering design experience
• AutoCAD drafting and drawing layout experience
• Finite elemental analysis and modeling
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Professional Engineering License preferred

The electrical engineering department is one of our largest departments and we have a growing demand for engineering support in a variety of market sectors. As a senior electrical engineer at Century A&E, you will be responsible to complete design projects for our Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Municipal clients, including the following major areas of design:
Medium and Low Voltage Power Distribution System Design
Industrial and Commercial Lighting Design and Modeling
Industrial Control Systems Design Including PLC based Control, HMI Interface, and Motor Control Systems, etc.
Process Instrumentation Design
Emergency Power Generation System Design
Alternative Energy Design-Solar, Hydro, Bio-Gas, etc.
Electrical System Modeling for Short Circuit Analysis, Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, and Protective Device Coordination
Drawing Development Using AutoCAD Design Software
Responsibilities:
Engineering and design for complete multi-discipline projects and electrical design projects
Project management for electrical design projects and possibly multi-disciplined projects
Development of drawings and specifications related to electrical designs
Project design budget management
Direct coordination with clients and contractors during construction
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor of Science in an Accredited Electrical Engineering Program
Minimum ten (10) years of electrical engineering design experience preferably at a design consulting firm.
Professional Engineering License in the state of Michigan is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) software
